1915-1945
Our journey began almost a century ago, when the Gordini family owned and managed several mills around Bologna and surrounding areas for local flour production.
1945-1975
At the end of WWII, most of the mills are lost and flour market is in decline, so Renzo Gordini decides to convert his major mill, located in Idice (Bologna), to the production of feedstuff. Due to the dire economic context, but also thanks to his revolutionary and forerunner vision, for his feed production Renzo chooses to work only with plant-based co-products from food and agroindustry. Decades later, the decision turned out to be right, as the market shifted from animal ingredients to plant-based sources, and sustainability became increasingly relevant.
1975-1985
The historical production plant of Idice (Bologna) is unable to meet the strong market demand, so Renzo decides to outsource part of production to external factories located in Ferrara and Matua. Unfortunately, due to urban planning regulations, the production in Idice (Bologna) must be stopped. All activity is thus moved to the two external plants which work as exclusive outsourced production facilities while the Idice (Bologna) site becomes the company headquarters.
1985
GreenFeedCycles is founded as Research & Development branch.
1985-2000
All businesses related to the feed market are moved to GreenFeedCycles during these years.
2000
Renzo’s daughter, Sabrina Gordini, takes over as CEO of GreenFeedCycles. Under her lead, the company enhances the quality control system and production reliability, introduces the idea of tailor-made products using BestMix software, and launches on the market single-cell protein sources as novel ingredients.

To face the new market demand and keep improving our attention to clients’ needs, a new fully automated IMP.A.C. packaging machinery is installed. During this period, it also finalized the complete acquisition of our historic outsourced production plant of Mantua, now owned and operated by GreenFeedCycles, which is thus once again a feed producer.
